it looks like we are up to 17/18 people now for this one. it all started in 2003..when there were 4 of us.  we add a few every year and have a blast

i may do a post after the con on the history of it..FYI if you didnt get it, the theme this year is back to the future (last year it was masters of the universe)

so last week

I decided to keep track of how many Thank Yous I received for holding the door open

it was bad.

I was able to hold the door for 36 people in a 2 day span

i got 4 thank yous

and 2 smiles(those could have been thank yous, i wasn’t sure if these two women spoke English). I am counting them. smiles are fine

yes it was 4 old women that said thank you

i guess it is time to start reminding people in a less subtle way

I will start saying in a sarcastic/mean voice…”oh you are welcome ”

then if that doesn’t work..follow them around and hold the door closed..

you couldn’t say thank you ..so fuck you. this door is close. sometime nice guys turn bad…they can only take so much

hell, 80s video games even had thank yous

does it really hurt to say thank you

so you people that have little ones, teach them this and remember it yourself

cooking with chad delp

so today i had a  hodgepodge of veggies and noodles..so I decided to make a different pasta salad

first i cooked the pasta..i mixed two different kinds..because it is a fun cooking day

because I dont waste time. while pasta was cooking i took the red peppers, orange and green peppers and chopped them up

then chopped up onions as well(there is no crying in my kitchen..unless you get a paper cut)

got out some other items I would need as well

I then used my Olive oil and sauteed the chopped veggies

after all the cooking. i let everything cool down before mixing

I added chopped tomatoes, cheese cubes, olives, Garlic powder, Italian seasoning, more olive oil red vinaigrette and some Parmesan cheese..mixed it all together and put it in the fridge for a few hours before testing

well I can safely say it is good..i like it. i plan on eating it

sometimes you just have to go with the flow cooking and have fun with it…it will be consumed during the big game tomorrow. if my gaming group shows up they can try it.

My friend Cory visited Vegas this last weekend and made a bet for me

that the cubs would win the world series this coming year (2015)

it seems the odds are good for cubs winning 8:1

which means a bad payout if they win

now i am not a cubs fan..nor will i ever be

i have decided that anyone that can figure out why i would make such a bet has a chance to share in my good fortune(if somehow the cubs win it)

so FB message me, Google message me, email me (chaddelp@yahoo.com) or find a way to get your reason to me (other than posting in the comments) you wouldn’t want others to get a chance because you screwed up

but i also request that you post a reply to the blog saying you sent me a message with a guess(so I can look for it)

i will run it for 2 weeks…then once that is up, I will take all the names that guessed(correctly), put in a hat and draw one winner (possible)

then if cubs win, i will give you 10% of what I win

I did ask Santa for the luck to pick better Fantasy Football teams next year..in one league I managed to get into the playoffs…with no good QB..so I think it will make an early exit

i have to say the first DAY OF THE CHAD was a great one. each year  should get better and more popular as the Chads of the world find out

 

now it is coming to Fantasy football play offs…looks like my gambles did not pay off yet again. so i will not be getting any money..again. next year it is auto pick. Chad Delp my win then

at least my packers are doing well (so far). Moving Clay Mathews all over seems to have really helped. We will see sunday Vs New England

Day of The Chad

i like day of The Chad, better.

so Wednesday before thanksgiving has been decided to be day of The Chad.  So it will easily be remembered.

A group of us Chads got together (it is 2015 so it was a quick Facebook post) and came up with a day.

This was the day it was going to be. That way the day changes every year.(other than being the day before thanksgiving

since I came up with Day of The Chad..I have decided (i took a vote and it was 1 to nothing) that I should be president of The Chad chapter

now some of you are asking why is there a chad day

well let me tell you why

#1 we decided..so it shall be

B. we wanted to be first..so the Taras of the world can copy us..we win

#5 we have a freaking country named after us…it may be 3rd world, but it counts..so suck it trebek

K.why the hell not. there is a day for everything else. we have people who are not pirates and walking around thinking they are on national pirate day..posers

so while the rest of you are getting ready for family crap. The Chads of the world will be taking a moment (at minimum ) or the whole freaking day and being Happy we are one of the Chads.

Day of the Chad 2016 will have Tshirts and stuff. We have to get the word out.

best things in life

so I was sick as hell all last week and last weekend. Thanks Nerd-ebola

well i had to do manly outdoor things when I was sick as hell.

we had a snow storm coming in so stuff had to get done. I chopped wood for the fire place.

then it slowly started adding up

then finally all nice and neatly stacked

i ended up with 2 (completely split) 5 foot high, 1 foot deep and 6 foot long stacks of fire wood. i am pretty bad ass

so next

Put away all fall items and put together my snow blower and make sure it would run

then had to shovel(snow blow) the 0.25 mile drive way

so last weekend was a busy weekend

so as for my title..the best things in life are not free….they are the ones you have to work your behind off for.

this weekend i went away for a mini work trip..i may post about that later
